Lost- 100th Episode: April 29

Wow. The 100th episode and it was awesome. Here is a list of some of the stuff we learned last night.

-Daniel’s mom knew his mind was meant for science and that he had a gift at a very young age

-Something happened with Daniel’s mind, he was forgetting a lot. Charles Whitmore came and gave him a chance to get his mind and memory back by going to the island

-Daniel Faraday was shot by his mother, Eloise Hawkings. The episode ended by us thinking he is dead.

-Eloise Hawkings knew she was sending her son back to the island to get killed.

-Kate, Jack, and Daniel went back to the Hostiles territory so Daniel could talk to his mom in 1977; hence Eloise Hawking was on the island

-Charles Whitmore is Daniel’s dad. (Eloise and Charles were old friends on the island)

-Daniel Faraday told Dr. Chang that he needed to evacuate every man, woman, and child on the island

-He also told Dr. Chang that he was from the future, and that Myles was his son.

-Dr. Chang didn’t believe Daniel, but maybe will next episode?

-Electromagnetic activity was unleashed in the Orchard station, killing a man.

-Daniel told Dr. Chang that this electromagnetic activity is going to be 30,000 times more powerful at the Swan station in 6 hours

-Daniel suggests to Kate and Jack that everyone has to leave the island, and someone has to leash an atomic bomb to stop everything from happening

-This electromagnetic activity at the Swan station will be the cause for everything that happens: Oceanic flight 815 crashing because Desmend didn’t push the 108-minute button, etc. etc.

-The Swan station is where the hatch was, and where the giant electromagnetic force is… causing the hatch to be there in the future

-Myles choose not to go with the others to see the hostiles… maybe he will listen to Daniel and convince his father that they are indeed from the future

-Daniel saw Charlotte as a young girl on the island again, and reminded her to leave the island and never come back

-Desmend is alive!

-Charles Whitmore and Eloise Hawkings are happy that Desmend is alive, and there is a reason for this.

-Eloise Hawkings told Penelope that she has no idea what’s going to happen next

-Sawyer called Kate ‘freckles’, Juliet noticed.

Questions:

-Was it the Oceanic 6’s destiny to come back to the island?

-Was Louise Hawkings wrong about their destiny?

-What does Destiny really mean?

-What is going to happen to Le Fleur/Sawyer?

-What’s going to happen to Juliet, Hurley, Jin, etc…?

-Who is Penelope’s mom?

-What is Desmend’s purpose?

-Where is Locke, Sun, Ben, etc.?

-If they do stop the electromagnetic field, what is going to happen to the passengers that were aboard Ocean flight 815?

-Where is Christian Shepard during all of this?

-I, personally, still want to know if Claire is still alive- thoughts?

Theories:

-Eloise Hawkings sent her son Daniel back to the island because of his journal. His journal and the information in the journal needed to be on the Island.

-Daniel Faraday was born on the island

Entourage

Entourage is one of the best shows on television. The characters are so intriguing and capture your heart. The writers know exactly how to entertain and make the show work. The direction is absolutely profound. I love the way the shots are in one continuous motion. You feel as if you know the characters and are there with them through the adventures. Every episode is amazing and has a special feel. This show makes me so happy. I could watch any episode every day of the week.

My TV Show

I have created my dream television show... with a little help from Allison.

Lost- April 15

A lot happened last night on Lost, let’s take a look.

-Miles could hear dead people since he was a child. His mother died and he never met his father.

-Miles father is Dr. Chang

-In 1977 Dr. Chang’s son was 3 months old, at the end of the episode Miles saw his father holding himself.

-Miles got invited into the Circle of Trust, and brought a dead man to his father Dr. Chang at the Orchard Station building grounds.

-Hurley went to the Orchard station with Miles. Dr. Chang then went in the car with both of them to a different hidden area.

-Hurley noticed the door hatch in a builder’s hand. He over hears the workmen putting the serial numbers on the hatch: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

-Hurley suggested that the hatch is what caused his plane to crash.

-We see the hatch being built, as it is hidden behind greens and the forest.

-Roger is curious about Kate’s obsession with his son Ben.

-Roger is upset that his son is gone and wants to know what happened.

-Phil went to Le Fleur’s house to let him know that he found the security tape of someone taking Ben to the Others… which was him.

-Sawyer knocks Phil out in order to protect his story of taking Ben to the Others.

-Naomi was Miles recruiter to the island.

-Graham picked up Miles in the past, and told him not to go on the boat and work with Whitmore. He suggests that if he goes he will be working for the wrong team.

-Graham tells Miles that if he goes with them he will figure out who is he and they will tell him about his father. Miles turns it down and says he only cares about money.

-Graham asks Miles, “Do you know what lies in the shadow of a statue”? Then suggests that since he doesn’t know, then he isn’t ready to go to the island.

-Hurley is writing the sequel to Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. And plans to mail an improved copy to George Lucas,

-Jack warns Juliet and Sawyer that Roger is curious about Kate.

-Miles goes to the submarine with Dr. Chang and DAN LAPITAS comes out! Dan says hello to Miles and says, “long time no see”.

Questions:

-How did Miles see himself as a 3-month year old baby?

-Will Mr. Chang figure out that Miles is his son?

-Who is the body that Miles delivered to Dr. Chang?

-What was the tooth cap of the body that Miles figured out from talking to the dead body?

-Did the electro magnetic field tear the cavity out of the corps?

-What are the reasons for Dr. Chang to be making the Hatch and the Orchard Station?

-Where has Dan been the past 3 years, since Charlotte died?

-Is Roger going to turn Kate in?

-Is Sawyer aka Le Fleur going to get caught?

-Who is really in the Circle of Trust?

-Who is Graham and the other people in the van that warned Miles about Charles Whitmore?

-Where is Claire?

-How did Ethan become an Other? (From last week’s episode)

Comparing Lost and 24

As of right now Lost and 24 are my two favorite television shows, yet they are so different. I have come to realize that one of the reasons why I love 24 so much is the structure of the show. I really appreciate how 24 is so structured. They film the whole series before they air the first episode to make sure that it is aired continuously without missing a Monday night. Each episode is an hour of real time which guarantees accuracy and precision.

Lost has a completely different structure which lets them do basically whatever they want. At any point the writers can add in whatever missing pieces to the story they want. There are no limits. All of a sudden time can just go back to 1977 and no one will really question it. Characters can just disappear and people won't even remember. Yet hopefully soon these questions will be answered.

The Sopranos

The Sopranos is one of the best television series of all times. The show filmed for over 10 years creating 86 hour long episodes. David Chase is the amazing creator, writer, and producer of the show, basing most of the characters on real people.

I did not follow the series from the beginning, which started in 1999, but just recently I started from the beginning and watched all 6 seasons of this amazing show.

Lost- February 25

Wow, intense episode and so much happened, I’ll do my best to recap everything:

-Widmore came to see Locke in the hospital in Tunisia. He told him that they met when Widmore was 17 years old

-Widmore knows the exit of the island, and that’s how he found Locke

-Widmore was the leader of the island for 3 decades, and protected it until he was exiled by Ben

-Widmore told Locke that he needs to go back to the island with all of his friends. And that he will help in any way possible

-Widmore suggested that a wall was coming. He told Locke that the wrong side is going to win if he doesn’t go back

-Mathew Abigot is the African American man that works for Whitmore and who is taking Locke around to the Oceanic 6.
-We have seen him before on the island and in Hurley’s mental institution posing as an Oceanic Airlines employee
-He gets killed by Ben

-Locke went to see:
-Sayid in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
-Walt in New York
-Hurley in Santa Rosa, Las Angeles
-Kate in Las Angeles
-Helen’s grave site in Santa Monica

-Jack just happened to be Locke’s doctor after the car accident that Ben initially started by killing Matthew Abigot

-Walt has been having dreams about Locke. He hasn’t seen his dad in three years.

-Jack is the only person that Locke needs to convince in order to get them all back on the island

-Hurley tells Locke that Mathew is evil

-Mathew tells Locke that he was the orderly in the hospital who encouraged him to go on the walk about, which got him on the island in the first place

-Locke’s ex-fiancĂ© was killed by a brain aneurysm on 4.8.06.

-Locke tells Jack that his dad is on the island. Wow.

-Once Locke thinks that no one will go back to the island, he writes Jack the note that says, “I wish you believed” and then attempts to kill himself

-Ben interrupts Locke’s suicide and convinces Locke not to kill himself because there was still so much work to be done, but….

-Ben kills Locke after finding out that Jin is still alive on the island, and that Locke knows about Eloise Hawking

-Locke is alive on the island and he finds out that his friends are there too

-Locke realizes that Ben killed him.

Questions:

-Who is the one to trust… Ben or Widmore?

-Why did Ben kill Locke? Does he want him dead forever?

-Who does Locke believe now? Does he hate Ben?

-Was Claire a passenger injured on the plane crash?

-Would Helen of died if it weren’t for Locke?

-Why did Sun and the pilot run off with the canoe?

-Was Locke killing himself out of desperation or a thought of coming back to life on the island?

Lost- March 25

  Lost

I really don’t know what to think about last night’s Lost… I am having trouble understanding the time situation. Here is what has happened…

-Sun landed on the other side of the island with Ben and the pilot. She found out how to get to the other side from Ben then knocked him out.

-Sun and the pilot sailed safety to the other island…but are in a different time period.

-Sayid and Ben are a lot more connected then we have ever known. They have been working together to kill Charles Whitmore’s people, but then hated each other again.

-Sayid met Ben as a child in the 70’s while he was captured, and Ben even mentored Richard as Sayid’s leader.

-Sayid shoots Ben in the chest with a gun at the end of the episode… but what does this truly mean?

-Sawyer saved Kate, Jack, and Hurley and entered them into the Dharma group.

-Sawyer (Le Fleur) tried to save Sayid, but Sayid didn’t want his help, especially because he didn’t want to be apart of the Dharma Initiative

-Le Fleur and Sayid had a conversation about what happens after this… because Sayid doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life there and just wants to die.

-That hippie guy gave Sayid acid in order for him to tell the truth… Le Fleur told Sayid that “he is our you” which is the name of the episode.

-Jin still hasn’t found Sun and is just working for Le Fleur

Questions

-What’s going on with the romantic situation with Juliet, Jack, Sawyer, and Kate?!?

-What is Sayid’s real plan or deal?

-Is Ben dead?

-Is Faraday right with his theory that you can’t change the past?

-What is going to happen from here? Is the rest of the season going to continue in 1977?

-When is Sun going to be reconnected with the rest of the group?

-Where is John Locke?

-What is Jack’s dad’s deal?

-Where is Richard?

-What was the car fire explosion?

-What is going to happen?

Lost- February 18

We learned a lot last night, but still have so many questions and answers we need to figure out. Here is the recap:

-“It really happened”. Jack, Hurley, and Kate are back on the island.

-46 hours before they landed on the island, Eloise shows Sun, Ben, and Jack a dharma hatch under the church.

-The hatch is called ‘The Lamp Post’ which has a huge pendulum swinging over a map of the entire world.

-Eloise explains that ‘The Lamp Post’ was the original way the Dharma Initiative found the Island.

-The Dharma Initiative created a long series of formulas that will allow them to find the island at a certain point in time.

-Eloise also explains how the Island is connected to other places through a series of windows, wormholes, and electromagnetic energy.

-The Island is always moving, which is the reason why they were never rescued.

-Eloise tells them what flight to be on in order to get back to the island: Guam flight 316

-They need to have as many similarities as possible from Oceanic flight 316 to find the Island.

-Eloise gives Jack a letter from Locke, and tells him to have something of his father’s on Locke.

-Jack gets his dad’s shoes from his grandfather to put on Locke

-Kate is at Jack’s house wanting to go back to the island, but only if he never mentions Aaron again.

-Ben calls Jack and insists on him bringing Locke to the plane.

-Sayid is in custody going on the plane

-Hurley shows up checking into the flight, as well as buying all the tickets, protecting others from the flight.

-Hurley is carrying Charley’s guitar and the guitar is next to him on the plane.

-Ben shows up on the plane, last, and clearly beaten up. Hurley doesn’t want him there.

-The pilot is Frank Lupitous!! The same pilot who gets the Oceanic 6 off the island. Once Frank sees the 6, he realizes that they are not going to Guam.

-Jack gets the letter from Locke back from a stewardess, after he tried to get rid of it.

-The letters says: Jack, “I wish you had believed” signed John Locke

-Once Jack reads the letter we see the flash!

-The end of the episode goes back to the beginning where we see Jack, Hurley, and Kate on the island. We hear music and see a brand new Dharma van drive up. The van parks and we see Jin wearing a Dharma outfit and holding a Dharma gun. LOST!

Questions:

-Are Sun, Sayid, and Hurley on the island? Where are they?

-How did Hurley and Sayid know about the flight?

-Why did Hurley decide to get on board?

-Why is an officer taking Sayid aboard the flight? How did this happen?

-Who beat up Ben, and what was he doing?

-How does Eloise know all this information? Has she been to the island? Who really is she?

-What happened with Aaron?!?

-Who was the creepy guy behind Jack in the airport who said I am sorry about the death of your friend, and who is also on the flight?

-Was the rabbit in Jack’s grandfather’s nursing home and resemblance of the rabbit in the Dharma videos?

Theories:

-Everyone on flight Guam 316 resembles someone else from Oceanic flight 316. Sayid is Kate, in handcuffs with a cop escort. Hurley has a guitar and comic book, resembling Charley. Sun had her husband’s wedding ring, like Rose did. Jack is reading a letter, like Sawyer was. Ben runs onto the plane as they were closing the door, like Hurley originally did.

-Could Kate be going to the island pregnant?

-‘The Lamp Post’ is the 6th and final Dharma Station.

-Kate killed Aaron. She said to Jack “Why hold onto something that makes you feel sad”?

-John Locke is going to come back to life… duh

-Locke is in the same position as Jack’s dad was on the previous flight that landed on the Island. This has to mean something. Locke and Jack’s dad are important, really important.

-Ben somehow was in charge of getting Hurley and Sayid back to the island, but how? He said to Jack that “All are convinced sooner or later”

-Could Aaron be with Sawyer’s daughter Clementine?

I Love Jack Bauer

24 last night was the heat. We finally figured out some gossip... which means of course who the mole is! Sean (Rhys) also known to some as Billy Walsh is the mole! At first it made it seem as if Janis was the mole because she borrowed Sean's flash drive thing to get the inside information about what Chloe is doing at the FBI...

Woow let's back up here... Why is Chloe at the FBI in clear focus of everyone who works there? It just doesn't make sense. Chloe said it and I agreed, and this is the reason for failing Jack's mission to make sure Dubaku's girlfriend stays safe. As well as to figure out where Dubaku is going... as well as figuring out everyone who is on the team.

Well, I guess this is only the ninth hour... we can't have everything figured out already. Anyhow back to Chloe, if Jack wasn't out on a mission he would of not had Chloe be where she is.

Anyhow if you watch 24 you know what has happened in last nights episode. So I will just make some comments on what I thought about it.

-Jack Bauer is a bad ass.

-I do not like Janis, and I really don't think Janeane Garofalo is a good match. I feel like as an actress she tries to be like Chloe and for people to like her... but it is just not happening. Unless she really is a mole.

-I had no clue that Sean was really the mole. Once he gave Janis the drive I felt bad for him because I was thinking he was the one who was going to get into trouble. Then I realized he was the mole, and I loved it. Good job casting people, Rhys is perfect for that part.

-I feel bad for Dubaku's girlfriend, but tough luck... that is what you get for being an idiot.

-I really did think Dubaku's girlfriend's sister was going to get killed. Oh well... haha

-Renee is gonna die, or something has to happen with her. She just can't be Jack's perfect side kick for the whole season, right?

-Bill Buchanan looks super weird with his beard and white hair

-Oh I can't believe I forgot... Morris is back!!!!! And Chloe has a kid!!! I love Morris, but duhh something is definatly going to happen with them. That scene seemed sketch when Morris was dropping her off at the FBI

-I just need to say again.... Why is Chloe at the FBI?? It just doesn't make sense, they know they have a mole in the FBI... so why is Chloe there, infront of everyone?! The cover story obviously just doesn't make sense.

Lost- February 11

I was starting to doubt if I wanted to do the Lost article for dueling couches. It was another responsibility I had to take care of during the week, as well as taking notes during my favorite TV show. But after this weeks episode and comments from everyone reading my article, my mind has completely changed. With the help of friends and the people of dueling couches I realized that I can do this article and it just takes time to get used to how to write and for people to be able to read what I say... not just members in my class. Every week makes me more interested and search for questions and invent new theories. It truly is an amazing show, and I am proud to say that I have an article on a popular blog. So here it is... Allison tell me what you think.

Here is what happened last night on Lost:

-Sun was going to kill Ben, but learned that Jin was still alive on the island. She is now planning to go back to the island.

-Jin doesn't want Sun to come back to the island because he knows that she will die. Jin gave Locke his wedding ring and trusted him to tell Sun not to come back.

-Russo came to the island in 1988 with her lover and baby's dad Robert. We learned that Robert wanted to call him/her Alexander or Alexandra.

-Russo killed Robert and the rest of the crew after the Black Smoke came through and infected them

-Robert was going to kill Russo and her baby

-Charlotte dies after lots of time travel flashes. But admits that she was on the island before with the Dharma Initiative. Daniel stayed with Charlotte after Locke and crew went on without them. Charlotte suggests that Daniel was on the island before too and warned her to leave and never come back.

-Charlotte tells Locke about the well… and sure enough was right.

-Locke goes down the well, gets hurt, and Jack's dad appears. Jack's dad explains the time flashes because Ben helped Locke move the island. Jack's dad tells Locke how to fix it and get back to land to get the Oceanic 6 back to the island. He also tells Locke to say hi to his son.

-Desmond appears at the Church where Sun, Ben, and Jack are. He is there to find Daniel's mom.

-Eloise says that all 6 of them aren't there… but Ben says that it was the best he could do.

Questions:

-Is Charlotte the girl that Ben was in love with when they were little? The girl who made him that wooden doll thing?

-What were the hieroglyphics on the building where the Black Smoke went?

-Is Eloise Hawkings, Daniel Faraday's mom?

-What is Desmonds deal? Was he tricked? What is his goal?

-How does Locke get back to life?

-How are they going to get the rest of the Oceanic 6 to go back to the island?

-Who else will die on the island from the time flashes?

Dueling with the Couches

So I have been asked by another blogger to write a weekly article on my favorite TV show Lost. I accepted the invitation right away, not knowing what I got myself into. This site duelingcouches.com gets a little over a thousand hits a day. Last week was my first Lost article and I felt so much pressure on my article being perfects. As I worked on it for hours I realized that it can't be perfect, because Lost is so damb complicated. Who actually even knows everything that is going on? There is so much that happens in each episode it is insane. There is so much one could potentially think, know, and predict. Anyway I took notes during the whole show, and tried my best. I was nervous sending my article over to duelingcouches, cause I really didn't know what they would think of it. Turns out he liked it and told me I did a good job. I didn't even look on the website to read my article over or see what people commented on it because I was so nervous... until yesterday. The comments people made were awesome and I really appreciated how one person said that I did a good job. Anyway here is the article, and hopefully this weeks episode will be a little less complicated.

Lost

Wow. So much goes on in each episode of Lost that sometimes it is hard to keep track of what is going on. Here are some recaps, ideas, and questions I have after watching this week’s episode of Lost.

Ben is obviously the one who hired the lawyer to mess with everyone’s head, for his main goal of going back to the island.

The Oceanic 6 are all off the island and in three years in the future… so, how much time has gone by for the ones who stayed on the island? Even though time keeps changing to different points in time… how much actual time has passed since the Oceanic 6 has left.

Ben hired a lawyer to get Hurley out of jail, and just happens to be the same lawyer that has contacted Kate about doing a blood test on Aaron to make sure he really is her baby. Ben is trying to make Kate scared so she will want to go back to the island. But is it just a coincidence that Claire’s mom just happened to have the same lawyer? Is Hurley going to get out of jail, and if so will he go back to the island? Who was the guy trying to shoot Said with the tranquilizer gun? Was it an employee of Ben, trying to get him back to the island?

What is going on with these nosebleeds? We have somewhat figured out that it has some relationship to how long everyone has been on the island for. Charlotte spent the most time on island, hence gets the nosebleeds first. Could Charlotte actually be the girl Anne we saw in last week’s episode? Or could it be Anne’s daughter?

Miles has obviously spent time on the island before, because he is the one who starts’ getting the nosebleeds next. But supposedly he doesn’t remember being on the island before… What is this about?
And why does Juliet start getting nosebleeds?

What was up with Kate’s dream about Claire saying that Kate should not bring back Aaron to the island? And where is Claire? Is Kate going to go back to the island, and is Aaron going to go with her?

Why is Sun in LA? Sun is freaking out about pictures she found of Jack and Ben together in recent days. But what is her main objective and will she go back to the island? Is she working with Charles Whitmore?

So what is going on with these time travel flashes? We know that Locke and Sawyer both knew what time it was because Locke saw the light coming from the hatch… which resembles the time after Boon died in the plane accident. After Locke saw Boon die he went to the hatch and started banging on it, when finally he saw the light. But why did John want to avoid the hatch?

Sawyer knew time was in the past when he saw Kate delivering Claire’s baby. It was crazy how Locke told Sawyer that Kate is still alive. And Jack told Kate that Sawyer was still alive. Is this going to be another reason for Kate to go back to the island?

Who are the people that were shooting at Sawyer, Locke, Juliet, and crew when they got on the paddleboat? And when in time was that? Thank god a flash happened…. Sawyer was almost dead.

Jin is back! And was rescued by the French people… weird thing about this is that Jin can speak English, yet he is nearly 30 years in the past. Indeed the French lady was Russo; we could of all of guessed before she even said her name. We found out how Danielle Russo got to the island and that she was indeed pregnant before she got to the island. Following along with the theory that only women who get pregnant off the island stay alive. Also Russo’s daughter is clearly not Ben’s biological father. The radio that is playing in the background of this seen, has someone reading the numbers: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42… what does this mean?

Overall I thought it was a very good episode we are learning a lot by the time flashes and know that the Oceanic 6 needs to go back to the island to get everything figures out… but the real question is are they all going to actually agree to go back to the island? Locke still has to get off the island, when is that going to happen? I can’t wait for next week!

Commercials

Since we just had the Superbowl I felt that it was necessary to mention commercials. First of all, I didn't see any commercials inparticular that were amazing. I mean some of them were good, but not worth 3 million dollars. Yes I said it... 3 million dollars for a 30 second commercial spot during the Super Bowl. Crazy. That doesn't include paying the advertisers to come up with the ideas, or doesn't include the paying the actual production of the commercials.

My favorite commercial was the Coke ad with the animated bugs. It didn't get voted as the best 5 commercials, but I thought it was creative, cute, and entertaining. Plus I love lady bugs! The critics mentioned the Budweiser horse commercials as two of the best ones, as well as two of the Doritos commercials. The Doritos commercials were good, especially the one with the crystal ball being thrown at the vending machine. Hahaha, that was so funny. But the Budweiser commercial weren't up to par (by my standards). I mean come on... for 3 million dollars I would think people could come up with something just a little better... What did you think?!

Moving on to a new idea about commercials... besides the Super Bowl, who even watches commercials anymore? Everyone I know DVRs/Tivos all the shows they actually want to watch. Then have the channel changer by their side the whole time to fast forward through the commercials. Do you watch commercials?!

Ways to Watch

There are so many ways to watch television shows, the news, and live events. On most network channel websites, such as abc.com and fox.com, have their own video players which play TV shows from their network by a click of a button. For example, abc has the full four seasons of Lost available for anyone to watch at any time. Besides Lost, they also have recent episodes on the day after they are previewed on TV.

Netflix is also doing an online bonus with their subscription. For example anyone who has an active account can access TV shows, and movies on demand online. After the Golden Globe Awards I have been watching 3o Rock on Netflix and Netflix On Demand.

Live web casts available on CNN and CSPAN have been actively been following Barack Obama's presidential inauguration today. Anyone with Internet access can go on these websites and see what the president is doing as well as previous speeches and performances from the days events.

In this day in age we have so much access to so much information that it is hard to believe. I could literally watch anything I could ever imagine online. And it's awesome!

Found

I am ready for Wednesday! Last night I finished the fourth season of Lost, and boy was I surprised. The last scene, the last moment, when I found out who was in the caufin... my heart stopped beating and I was in awe. I couldn't believe it was him, I had so many thoughts running through my head and new ideas about where the show is going. I just can't believe it.

Another reason why I love television shows so much is the whole thought process one goes through while watching a series. You guess what is about to happen, and it either happens and you feel so sophisticated and smart, or... you are wrong, but so happy, cause you just can't believe it and are in shock. The emotions that you go through when watching a series, especially Lost, is so far from the real world, that it is like a vacation. Everytime I take a seat on the couch and turn on an episode is like going on a vacation to a mysterious island. Only I don't have to be doing all the work!

People are so obsessed with television shows like Lost that they have even created a webpage titled "Lostpedia". "Lostpedia" is literally the show's own encyclopedia where you can find everything and anything you need to know about the hit abc show. They have their own blogs, chatroom, active projects, forums, latest news, etc. etc.

My First Blog

I have loved television shows since I was little. I remember idolizing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because they were my age, and in multiple television series and movies. I remember watching Full House, Saved by the Bell, and Family Matter over and over again. I was addicted to the characters and the stories involved. Moving on to my teenage years I was obsessed with television shows such as Dawson’s Creek. I believed to have connections to some of the characters and would use the show as personal therapy. As I have grown older, I have obviously matured to better television series with higher involvement. My favorites shows now are 24, Lost, and Entourage.

Watching a complete television series is my favorite thing to do. Lying on the couch being involved in an awesome story, with amazing characters, there is nothing else like it. Well, reading a book… but seriously. Knowing that I have a full season ahead of me is like giving me a box of cookies! Yum yum!

One main reason why I love watching television shows is that it can relate to my own life. For example Entourage, I am not saying that the show is my life, but it is my fantasy of what I would love my life to be. I also enjoy watching the four main characters interact and have such a strong relationship together. Vince is the movie star and has Johnny Drama (his brother), E (manager and best friend), and Turtle (best friend) as his Entourage. Through thick and thin they are always there for each other. And even though Vince makes the money and is so famous the others aren’t jealous of him. Instead the take advantage of the situation and make jobs for themselves. Obviously they get big breaks and get the best of both worlds type of thing. I admire their relationship and it is what strives the show along.

As I looked up Entourage on wikipedia it said kind of the same thing as the theme of the show. Male friendship is the term wikipedia uses to describe the recurring theme. Series creator Doug Ellin stated, "Entourage works because it's about male friendship. The Hollywood setting is entertaining but it's really about the relationship between these guys". He later added that, "Ultimately, the show's theme is friendship and family. The characters may have the bling, but they're grounded guys who look out for each other. That's the backbone of the show. If it was just about fantasy lifestyles, it wouldn't be relatable". This view was supported by Jeremy Piven, who plays the talent agent Ari: "If it was just a show about wish fulfillment and guys getting [sex] because their best friend was famous, it wouldn't be that interesting"

This show is so much my dream that when I graduate college I plan on moving to Las Angeles to pursue my dream as a producer, editor, director, writer in Hollywood. I want to see what it would be like to be involved in a production of a television show. I want to create something that other people will enjoy and admire as much as I do with my favorite television shows. I want to be able to make other people so happy and want to stay home all day just to watch a show that I created.
